Italian family gets a FREE luxury holiday to Maldives

The family from Italy came to Maldives in the hopes of enjoying a peaceful vacation at the lush tropical gardens of the country. But what they didn’t expect was for their child to be a victim of the impact of coronavirus on Maldives.

The Coronavirus, speculated to have originated from Wuhan of China, has rapidly spread all across the globe. With Maldives being a country dependent on tourism, it was only a matter of time before the coronavirus had found its way to Maldives. To tackle this pandemic Maldives built the world’s first coronavirus quarantine resort, at K.Vilivaru island, along with doctors allocated to treat patients for free.

With the hope of spending a lovely vacation in Maldives and experiencing the sunny side of life, the couple  with their young toddler went to the local island of Thinadhoo only to be met with the devastating news that their little angle was going to be the first child to be quarantined at the resort.

The little girl was suspected of coronavirus and taken to isolation, and their parents described the situation as an unfortunate event they were not hoping for. Times were tough for the couple from Italy, and the child.

However, all was well at the end. Yesterday marked the 14th day of being quarantined and they have gone back to their country after being marked safe from the coronavirus in Maldives. They did not return to their country empty handed though.

For the courage they displayed and their eagerness to return to Maldives again, despite the hardship they had to endure, the family was gifted a free return trip to Maldives from the tourism ministry. After the quarantine, “they left on the sails of a boat” which was gifted to the couple and stated that, they would return to Maldives in 2021 to write a new chapter of this fairytale and they would experience the sunny side of life at one of the most expensive resorts in Maldives. They also met with the tourism minister, Hon. Ali Waheed, who gave best regards and good wishes to Italy and its citizens, on behalf of Maldives.

Maldives is currently facing a crisis as its tourism is seeing an all-time low due to the coronavirus, with resorts being closed down and people being quarantined. However, amongst all the pool of negativity there is still hope that this paradise on earth will thrive once again, as displayed by this young family from Italy.
